VICE: Virginia Institute on

Cooperative Education


​The Virginia Cooperative Council’s (VCC) Virginia Institute on Cooperative Education is a conference for high school students to gain hands-on experience learning about Virginia Co-op's and their way of doing business. 


Participants are selected from a collection of nominees, based upon their academics and extracurricular activities along with letters of reference.


Conference: March 27-29, 2020

Application Deadline: March 6, 2020


Where: Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria VA


Contest Fees: 

**Scholarships are available**

Scholarships will be awarded to the top three performers at the VICE conference:

- $2,000 to the top performer

- $1,500 to the second-place performer

- $1,000 to the third-place performer.


These scholarships are being awarded to be used by the students to attend the college or university of their choice. This is the fourth year we have been able to award scholarships. Of the scholarships awarded thus far, most of the recipients were nominated by Virginia high school teachers!!


All nominees must meet the following requirements:

1.      Must be age 16 – 19 (as of July in year attending)

2.      May attend the conference only once

3.      Students must abide by Code of Conduct (attached)

4.      Youth applying must visit and interview a local cooperative
