SAE(s)
My Supervised Agricultural Experience focuses on agricultural services, specifically livestock management and cattle handling. I work with Broken Arrow Livestock Solutions LLC, a livestock service business that assists farmers and livestock owners with livestock handling, herd management, equipment rental, day work, and livestock and equine transportation. The company primarily works with cattle, horses, sheep, and goats, helping producers safely manage and move their animals.
Through this SAE, I have developed advanced skills in livestock management, animal handling, and customer service while gaining valuable real-world agricultural experience. Working alongside producers has strengthened my passion for animal agriculture and prepared me for a future career in veterinary science and agribusiness.
Favorite CDE/LDE
My favorite CDE is the Agricultural Issues Forum. This event has become my favorite because it has provided me with opportunities to advocate for important agricultural topics. I enjoy researching current issues and presenting practical solutions to local, state, and national challenges facing the agricultural industry while strengthening my communication, critical thinking, and advocacy skills.
Favorite FFA Memory
My favorite FFA memory is, without a doubt, attending the Washington Leadership Conference in the summer of 2024. WLC was a transformative experience that allowed me to build meaningful connections and lifelong friendships with fellow members from across the country. The leadership lessons I brought home shaped my approach to service and leadership. It was a week filled with unforgettable memories, incredible people, and a shared passion for the National FFA Organization.
Future Plans
Following my year of service, I will attend Virginia Tech to pursue a degree in Animal Science with a minor in Agribusiness. My long-term goal is to become a large animal veterinarian, and I plan to gain experience as a large animal veterinary technician while working toward that goal. I also intend to remain an active volunteer firefighter and EMT. Deeply rooted in my community, I hope to bring my education and experiences back home to serve Central Virginia.
