Plant Science

The Middle School Plant Science contest introduces students to the growth and development of plants used in agricultural and horticultural industries.

What Students Will Do

Students apply their knowledge through activities involving plant identification, planting, general plant care, and the science of plant growth and development.

Eligibility

Who Can Compete

Students in grades 6–8 may compete individually or as a team of 3–4 members.

2026 Virginia FFA State Convention

The Middle School Plant Science contest will be held during the Virginia FFA State Convention in June 2026.
