EVENT LOCATION & TIME
The Floriculture CDE will be held at Virginia FFA's 100th annual state convention, in June of 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
Individuals and teams of 3-4 are eligible to compete. Competitors must be in 9-12 grades.
2026 DESIGN SCENARIO
Your school is hosting an FFA awards reception to recognize student achievements, and you have been asked to create a floral arrangement to be displayed at the center of the tables. The arrangement should be visually attractive and appropriate for a celebratory FFA school event. Since it will be viewed from all sides, the design must be pleasing from every angle. The arrangement should remain low enough that it does not interfere with conversation or sight lines across the table.
Your teacher will provide the flowers and materials needed to create your assigned floral arrangement. You may choose how to use the provided materials and are not required to use all of the flowers. The final design should demonstrate good design principles, proper use of mechanics, and overall craftsmanship.
SUMMARY OF 2026 RULES UPDATES
The floral arrangement will not include a pricing sheet. Instead there will be an additional pricing practicum.
