4/7/ COVID-19 Update
Dear Friends and Members of the Virginia FFA and Ag Ed Family,

With the recent announcement from Virginia Tech regarding the cancellation of on campus summer events, Virginia FFA is left to make some difficult decisions regarding our annual State Convention. Our governing board is considering various options and a decision will be made by May 1st. It is our goal, no matter the time or platform, to provide a meaningful and widely impactful experience for our members across the state. We greatly appreciate your dedication to our association and your continued patience during these challenging times.

Sincerely,
G. Andrew Seibel, Ed.S.

3/20 COVID-19 Update
Dear Friends and Members of the Virginia FFA and Ag Ed Family,

Please note it is with great deliberation and discussion the Virginia FFA Governing Board and Advisory Board have decided the following measures to help ensure the safety and well-being of our members, as well as still allow them the opportunity to continue to participate in FFA events.

• All Federation, Regional and State level FFA events are postponed until after June 10, 2020.
• Please continue registering for all future events as usual. Refunds will be processed for any event that is cancelled.
• For any local events that continue after June 10th please be on a no handshake policy and remind all involved to wash hands AND stay home if they are not feeling well.
• The Virginia FFA staff will continue to monitor local conditions and if/when necessary will work remotely.
• The Virginia FFA staff will also continue to monitor and communicate with the State FFA Officers and their families on their travel status. More information will be forthcoming.
• For any events that continue after June 10th our officers will be on a no handshake policy as well.
• Now more than ever, please be diligent in checking, reading and reviewing listserv messages as often times information can and will change quickly, as well as anything that is currently planned no matter how far down the timeline can be influenced by these decisions today.
• We will continue to monitor and communicate with all boards and parties involved in these events and decisions, as well as review information posted by the Department of Health, Center for Disease Control and World Health Organization.
• State FFA Degrees will be due April 15th. All other applications (proficiency awards, National Chapter, etc.) will be due May 15th.
• The Board will monitor the situation and continue to meet each Friday by Zoom.
* Updated 4/3 to reflect the Governor’s Executive Order.

Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of uncertainty.

Sincerely
G. Andrew Seibel, Ed.S.
