SAE Project(s)
My SAE is in Agriculture Education. I do not come from an agriculture background so when I became involved in FFA I tried production and dipped into a few other things. I soon realized I loved being in the classroom with students after being involved with our Partners in Active Learning Support group. I quickly became immersed into all things agriculture and education! I became the coordinator of our PALS program, the middle schools FFA club coordinator, a workshop leader, my church's elementary school Sunday School teacher and more. I planned many activities throughout the year and put together lessons, workshops, crafts, books and more. My SAE was a lot of work but I loved having the opportunity to be with students of all backgrounds, incomes, ages and dreams!

Favorite CDE or LDE
My favorite LDE was Parliamentary Procedure. Parliamentary Procedure was the competition that I spent the most time practicing and preparing for - long evenings, weekends and more. Which paid off because Holston won State in 2018 and had the opportunity to compete at Nationals in Indianapolis! There were so many tears, sweat and laughs during practices but my team enjoyed all of our time spent together. Parli Pro gave us the opportunity to become a family and grow together in our leadership, public speaking and meeting skills. Some of my best memories were spent with my Parli Pro team and our advisor. There are so many skills and qualities I gained from Parli that I still use in my life today. I would encourage everyone to try out Parliamentary Procedure!

Favorite FFA memory
Each year, Holston FFA hosts our annual Phil Lineberry Memorial Scholarship Bingo. At this bingo we raise money for a $500 scholarship for a graduating senior each year who plans to further their education. This event takes so much planning from getting bingo prizes from local businesses, buying supplies for our baked potato bar, setting up and more. We have to have all our officer team, many FFA members, parents, our advisors and more to be able to put this event on but it is so worth it! The best part is seeing our community come together to connect, play bingo and fellowship together to support FFA and agriculture education at Holston High School. I am blessed to be a part of such an amazing community and we have a great alumni that helps our chapter keep running!

Future Plans
My future plans are to attend our local community college then transfer to a university to obtain a degree in Education. I have thought about becoming an elementary teacher or an FFA advisor. But overall, my main goal is to stay in the education field, working with students and helping them achieve their goals and dreams! I want to inspire students that it does not matter where you come from or your past, you can make a difference in yourself, school, community and more!
