VA NOC Process Highlights

If you are interested in running for the nomination please read over these guidelines so that you have all the important dates and details to help you prepare.

 

What You Need To Know:

 

1.) The Big Choice - The decision to run for a National FFA Office is not an easy one. The position of NOC takes a great deal of time and preparation as well as some deep self reflection. Be sure to read through the National Officer Candidate Handbook and please include your family in making this decision. 

 

2.) American Degree - Upon deciding to run, please be sure you work with your chapter advisor to complete your American FFA Degree if you do not already have it. The cover page is due by April 18th. You will need to have or be receiving your American Degree to run for national office/Virginia's candidacy.

 

3.) Intent To Run - To complete the application, click here . Once complete, this application is submitted to Virginia FFA and shared with the Supervisor of the Virginia FFA Nominating Committee Process. This is the application that will be reviewed by the Virginia FFA National Officer Nominating Committee. You will receive a copy of your completed application following submission. 

This application is due by 11:59PM on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

 

 

4) The selection process to receive the Virginia nomination for National FFA Office will take place on Virginia Tech's campus (Blacksburg, VA 24060). Further interview site details will be provided to candidates closer to the interview date. The process will begin at 9:00AM on Saturday, June 8. The process will conclude the same-day. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early. You will be interviewed by a five-member nominating committee which parallels National FFA's officer selection process. Through this process, the committee will select who will serve as Virginia's candidate for national office at the National FFA Convention held in October of 2019.

                               

 

5.) The Big Day -  The selection process will be conducted similar to the National Officer Candidate process at National Convention. Some rounds may be excluded. More information on the process can be found in the FFA National Officer Candidate Handbook. The process is one day and we will announce Virginia's candidate by Friday, June  14, 2019
